Governor's Community Achievement Award
For more than thirty years, Keep Texas Beautiful, in partnership with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), has awarded the prestigious Governor's Community Achievement Awards to Texas communities for their outstanding overall efforts to keep their communities beautiful.
In 2021, Gatesville was among ten winning communities will that share $2 million in landscaping awards from the Texas Department of Transportation, with the amount based on population size. The funds are used for landscaping projects along local rights-of-way. A community's environmental program is judged on achievements in seven areas:

Keep Gatesville Beautiful is a community driven non-profit organization that works to improve the community's environmental awareness. From improvement projects to educational presentations, Keep Gatesville Beautiful is 100% volunteer run.

Keep Gatesville Beautiful relies on donations to fund projects and educational presentations. Funding from local businesses and community members is greatly appreciated and necessary to continue our mission to improve the community.
Get Involved
Anyone is welcome to join Keep Gatesville Beautiful as a member. Basic membership is free, but opportunities for monetary donations are appreciated. Community membership information can be obtained from the website or from a Keep Gatesville Beautiful board member.
